Collectible Alaskan Bowl "Cache in Winter" signed by Sascha Brastoff From the Sascha Brastoff Studios of California For the Alaska Steamship Line and Tourist Trade 1950's and 1960's This is a striking and colorful bowl, a real beauty. Dark green blue sky, outlined mountains in white, and the log cache evoke the actual stark feel of a far North winter night. Signed "Sascha B.", this must be an earlier piece from the days of Sascha Brastoff's contract with the Alaskan Steamship Company to produce the popular Brastoff Alaskana pottery items so treasured by tourists in the 1950's which extended into the 1960's. These pieces were sold as well in several upscale art shops in Anchorage and Juneau.This is a round bowl. The diameter at the rim is 5 3/4 inches. It sits 2 5/8 inches tall. Condition: Nearly pristine. No flea bites, chips, or cracks. There is a possible craze line on the bottom, and what may be a tiny scratch inside near the rim, but that is all. Otherwise, like new. Returns are accepted only if there is a significant error in the listing description. I ship within three business days of receiving payment. All items will be shipped fully insured by the USPS.
