Large vintage Swedish hand-woven tapestry or wall hanging measuring 19in x 16½inches or 48cm x 37cm, in very good condition.It is in perfect condition and looks as though as soon as it was made it was put away carefully in a drawer and never taken out again. The photograph hasn't managed to capture the colours. In reality the blue is a deep sea blue and the bands of sand are a rich burnt-orange. The seagulls are worked in creamy white, with shding in light brown and grey and brown heads with dark yellow beaks.A most unusual and attractive touch is that the upper and lower edges have been beautifully finished in unbleached linen.This is a piece of artwork which has been made with great skill.My elderly Swedish mother-in-law has just moved into our house and she has a huge collection of tapestries, most of which were done either by herself or her mother-in-law. But she now wants to downsize, so I will be listing several more of these tapestries over the next few weeks, all in excellent condition.I am happy to ship worldwide.
