North Electric "Galion" Telephone Fully restored 1940's vintage desk phone. Beautiful example of 40's Art Deco styling. Dials out and receives calls loud and clear. Ringer works and has crisp, pleasant sound. Bakelite case and hand set have been buffed and polished to near new condition. No cracks, chips or hairlines. Components and internal parts date from 1946, 1947 and 1948. Leather feet show some wear, but are in good shape. Automatic Electric d ial has been completely cleaned, lightly oiled, and adjusted. It works perfectly. Number plate like new. Unique cut away finger wheel, designed for easier cleaning of number plate. Chrome card ring, number card, and clear disk are new. Cloth covered line and hand set cords are high quality replacements from House of Telephones. Line cord has modern modular plug that fits today's outlets. This has not just been wiped off and put up for bid. I spent many hours restoring this phone. My goal is to provide a phone that is as close to new looking and working as possible. Almost every part or component has been disassembled, cleaned, polished, shined, and/or buffed as needed to achieve the restoration.
