Vintage Wooden Kraut Cutter /Cabbage /Shredder /Slicer I have one of these (my grandma's:) that I use for making Kraut and Freezer Slaw...I LOVE IT !!:) Before I started using mine I used a Food Processor...and my cabbage was always chopped to pieces...( lol...that didn't come out right :) hmmm...it was always way too fine and was very watery (how's that??...you know what I mean...lol) And you had to cut your cabbage into little chunks to fit in that dang tube... You know...you've had to do the same thing :) Then you just get started and the next thing ya hafta do...empty that bowl... Now, I just wash my cabbage real good (the whole head) and put it in that box and a few strokes and presto...it's all done. :) And the rest of the year I use it for decoration... :) I just tried this one out ...and it cuts very well. T are slicing 3 blades and I am not positive..but I think you can adjust the screws on the blades to change the size of the slices. Like if you wanted to slice potatoes...you could make thicker slices. It is approx. 25" long X 9" wide and it is in very good condition. You will want to coat the blades...they do tend to get a little surface rust on them. T is some writing on this one...but it is so old I couldn't quite make it out...I do have a picture of it for you to look at though. If you have any questions...please read more
