Make this pattern and make an entrance in this genuine vintage 1955 stunning bouffant cocktail dress! The Holidays are on the way. Get ready for party season with this lovely figure-flattering molded bodice dress with full skirt. This pattern is versatile enough for bridal wear also. I have seen a wedding dress pattern of this era that is very similar to this dress and it is GORGEOUS! Just lengthen this pattern and there you have it! Lace or tulle overlay at the full side panels and around the back would be a lovely romantic touch. Simplicity 1460 Size 16 Bust 34 Waist 28 Hip 37. Own a piece of fashion history and wear it too! Classic style is always in fashion. Complete,unused factory folded pattern and primer for one-piece dress and coat: This pretty ensemble features a figure-molding dress styled with side-skirt fullness. Longer bodice is cut in one full length center panel. Kimono sleeves are short. Square neckline dips to a V in back. Trim and bows are of ribbon. Coat is an easy swinging fashion featuring a small collar and tapered three quarter length kimono sleeves. The pattern and primer are in excellent condition. The graphics are still bright and absolutely beautiful. This would make an enviable addition to your collection! Use the bust measurement to determine the size you need. Pattern sizes do not correspond to retail ready-to-wear sizes. Take bust measurement across the widest part of your back and around fullest part of you bust. This will not be the same as your bra size, which is the band measurement just under the bust.. What I may consider to be a gorgeous and interesting vintage item, may not meet your same criteria. I think the notes written on the patterns by those who used them so long ago add such character and life. To me, these patterns smell like a library and remind me of story-time in elementary school. I do not attempt to clean, restore, or repair vintage items because I would not want to damage them nor interfere with the story they have to tell. I will leave that decision to you.
