This auction is for a vintage ~ General Electric ~ Fully Automatic 4-9 Cup Pot Belly Percolator Coffeemaker Model 18P40...115 volts ac... 800 watts >>> MADE IN U SA <<< This great little GE percolator is in very nice vintage used condition . I believe this model dates to the 1950s or 60s. Manufactured in Bridgeport, Connecticut back when GE was still making high-quality products like this here in America , instead of the imported disposable junk they turn out these days. Nice and very shiny chromed steel body, with a cool art deco design etched into both sides. The black stay-cool plastic/bakelite handle and base are in great condition. This coffee pot also has the clear glass top , so you can actually see the coffee ' perking '. As you can see in the picture, it's marked on the inside of the pot at 4 , 6 , 8 , & 9 cups . Fully automatic , it begins perking just after you plug it in, and the light comes on when the coffee is ready to serve. This particular model also has a Reheat setting, which can be used to heat water for tea or hot chocolate, as well. The basket, lid and stem are made of aluminum and are in good conditon, simply showing normal signs of use associated with a coffeemaker of this age. The outside of the percolator also shows some typical minor surface scratches from use and cleaning that you would expect, but read more
