This is a NO RESERVE auction for a vintage man's Lapp / Sami hat called Neljän Tuulen Lakki, The Cap of the Four Winds. I believe this is from the Enontekiö region, but I am not an expert in this field! The four pointed crown is made of blue wool flannel (not felt or fleece, as the new souvenir gear is). The "stovepipe" section is heavier weight red wool fabric and richly decorated with beautiful embroidered ribbons and colorful rick-racks. Four different color wool fabric (not craft felt) "tails", representing the colors of Sami flag, white faux fur trim and red lining.This hat has no labels whatsoever, so I have no idea of the maker or the size. The inner brim circumference measures 22" / 56cm at the seam where the fur meets the lining. This corresponds to US 7, which is considered Medium. Excellent vintage condition. No wear, stains, rips, moth holes or anything else disturbing.This item is in Helsinki, Finland and will be shipped as Priority Parcel via Finnish Post.
