Offered for sale in very nice used condition are eight (8) vintage matte finish Carson Statesmetal (reproduction pewter-styled) sand cast food & drink safe (100% lead & cadmium free) 14 oz. soup/cereal/salad bowls in the Danforth pattern, created by Carson of Freeport, PA. I believe these were produced sometime in the mid-70's to early 80's when the demand for reproduction pewter was at a peak for the bi-centennial celebrations. All measure approx. 1 3/8" tall with a 6 7/8" rim diameter. They are very similar to Wilton Armetale's "Plough" pattern and are very well made. Six were barely used and look practically new (of those 3 bear their original stickers) and two of the eight were more frequently used and have a slightly duller finish from use and cleaning though the difference is not terribly noticeable and they still look great and fit in nicely with the others. The unpackaged weight of each is 10 ozs. Each piece is individually hand cast and hand-finished so that no two pieces are exactly alike. The greatest features to this metal is it's low maintenance (no polishing necessary for a nice rustic look), durability (won't crack or break) and the metal's great heat & cold retention that keeps hot food & beverages hot and cold food & beverages cold much longer.
