DescriptionThis is a wonderful Walter P. Fleming Folk Pottery Decorated Face Jug! It has a terrific green tobacco spit glaze with cobalt blue pupil eyes and blue glass that drips off both of the handles and the lip. This is done by putting a piece of broken glass on the pottery when it is fired and it melts; creating this great "run" design. Along with having TWO handles, this jug is also decorated with the classic dot, straight and wavy line decoration not only around the shoulder but also in the middle and on the bottom of this fine jug. This incising adds a lot of character. Walter always employs china teeth. This face jug measures approximately 12" tall and is 7" wide ear to ear. It is signed Walter P. Fleming on the bottom. Walter Fleming began potting in 1986.
