While large turntables over 120' long could handle the huge mainline steam engines like 2-8-8-2s, 4-6-6-4s and 4-8-8-4s, most terminals catered only to smaller locos like 4-6-2s, 2-8-0s and 2-8-2s. For these facilities, a 90' turntable was sufficient.The Built-up 90' Turntable fills the bill for secondary and branch line terminals where smaller engines are serviced.
