SOUTHERN PACIFIC ACF 44-SEAT COACH w/ GRAB IRONS ***JANUARY, 2011 RELEASE*** New HO scale factory painted and assembled model of an American Car & Foundry (AC&F) 44-seat long-distance coach car by Walthers. Based on cars that were originally built for Union Pacific and Chicago & North Western under lots #3812 and #3843. The CNW later sold their cars to the Southern Pacific. These models feature factory-installed grab irons, and much more. Painted yellow and gray with red lettering (UP Cities paint scheme) for the Southern Pacific RR. No road number but decals enclosed. Product number. MSRP is $65. By the late 1940s, America's railroads were rapidly upgrading and expanding their streamliner fleets. Some were still running when Amtrak took over passenger service in 1971.
