Offered here is an excellent and extremely authentic example of an 1812 period US Infantry Enlisted Leather Shako. This is commonly referred to as the "tombstone" model because of its distinctive shape. The shako is constructed of formed leather and is absolutely authentic in every detail of construction and material. The photos really tell the whole story. Size is about 7 1/2. All cording is woven wool and the liner is natural linen and leather. These are quite hard to find because of the difficultly in construction. I am listing several pieces of 1812 headgear and uniform items of equally excellent and accurate construction. I only accept payment through PayPal unless prior arrangements are made before you bid.
