Antique souvenir china piece showing a colorful scene of the Iowa Sugar Co., Waverly, Iowa. Plate measures 5.9 inches across. Good condition with no chips or cracks. Wear to color. Backstamp: Made in GermanyNearby towns: Shell Rock, Bremer, Janesville, Readlyn, Denver, Artesian, Horton, Clarksville.Most of the souvenirs I'll be listing are close to 100 years old if not already. They were produced in Germany/Austria and imported all the way back to the town that is represented on the piece. They usually were then sold for ten to fifty cents. The beginning of WWI put a halt to souvenir production though some pieces were produced again after the war. Thank you for looking.
