From the first time he wore the West Point cadet helmet with dazzling yellow plume, the uniform heavy with gold lace and sold braid, untill his retirement forty-five years later, General William Carey Brown distinguished himself in the service of the United States Army for his single-hearted devotion to his profession. George F. Brimlow when writing The Bannock Indian War of 1878 became interested in the career of General Brown, and was allowed access to Brown's personal correspondence, diaries, and writings. A FOREWORD BY MAJOR GENERAL CHARLES DUDLEY RHODES - Illustrated with several monochrome plates. Book is in very good general condition with minor edge wear, dustcover consists of front and flyleaves only in clear jacket. Covers, end pages and all text appear clean and unmarked though there is a signed endorsement from author on back of front end page. 442 pages and about 1.3 by 6.3 by 9.3 inches.
