A lovely Wedgwood plate depicting the American Clipper ship " Stag Hound" at sea, Made in 1938 and part of a Wedgwood series called "The American Clipper Ship Plates," designed by Shreve Crump & Low Co. of Boston, Massachusetts. Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston . Made in England Fully marked on back. Back also has extensive details about the history of the ship, including w it was built, who owned it, the names of its Captains, its length, breadth, depth, and tonnage, its voyages, its "best reported day's run" (365 miles) and w and when it met its end.Diameter of plate is about 9". In Excellent condition without chips and cracks. Color is still bright. It Has been stored safely for over 40 years and I have eight other plates in this series in my e-bay.
