In 1971 Wedgwood (Staffordshire, England) issued the first of a long running series of collectors plates depicting scenes from famous children's 'Fairy Tales' commonly known as 'Children's Story' plates Here we have the first two in the series; 1971 'The Sandman' by Hans Christian Anderson 1972 'The Tinder Box' by Hans Christian Anderson Each plate of a Cream Ware type body with a polychrome transfer print to the centre well and approx 6" in diameter Both in excellent condition but I will mention a couple of slight glaze scratches to the lettering on the reverse of the 1972 plate. Please note this is mentioned for complete accuracy and is not a strike-through in the makers mark as the plates are first quality. Purely a scratch and nothing else. Also I do not have the original boxes Free UK P&P Thank you for looking Very Best Regards Pam
