I recently acquired this large medallion (or small plaque) which is a duplicate of one that I already have and so I am offering it for sale. It measures 4 3/8 inches wide by just under 6 inches tall. It is made of solid light blue jasper and is marked WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND on the back. The figure pictured is the first figure from the Dancing Hours relief, one of Wedgwood's most popular designs. In this case, she is shown distributing flowers as she is a depicted as a single figure. The relief has great depth and is quite detailed. It is clean and crisp with the exception of a small firing crack that can be seen in the photo under the figure's toes. T is also a 1/2 inch firing crack in the jasper on the back, which does not go all the way through and is not visible from the front (shown in the second photograph). As you can see by the photograph, it is quite minor and does not affect the integrity of the piece. I also have the frame that came with the piece which can be included in the package if requested. It is a simple dark wood frame with a gold mat that has an oval cutout for the plaque. Adding the frame will, of course, increase the weight by approximately one pound.
