Carved Mahogany Lovespoon Up for auction is this uniquely designed, hand crafted Welsh Lovespoon by Steven Austin. As in any traditional Welsh Lovespoon it is hand carved from a single block of Hardwood and it measures 10.00" long x 2.25" at the widest point. For this design I have used Mahogany , the wood has been hand carved to showcase the Hearts, Vine, Celtic Knotwork and Doves. The surface has been sanded and waxed to a silky smooth finish with a hard shield of carnauba paste wax. This unique Welsh Lovespoon's main elements are Hearts, Vine, Celtic Knotwork and Doves. The Hearts symbolizes love, love and affection, Celtic Knotwork for eternal love or together forever or everlasting love, the Flame means forever, the Vine for love grows and the Doves for lets fly away together. The full relief surfaces of the Lovespoon are hand finished to obtain an even texture and buffed to a silky smooth finish using an all natural citrus paste wax. The back face of the spoon has been dated, indicating the carvers initials and the date of creation i.e. SA0511. A beautiful and original design by Steven Austin Carvings. A nice addition to further enhance your collection and certainly a conversation piece. Ideal for an Anniversary or as a Birthday gift or just because.
