This is a nice item, not some cobbled together junk. Originally new in my family, the specs. are: Western Electric Company on the base plate, Pat. in USA, Dates are: Aug 16 04, Sept 13 04, and Jan. 26 15. Mouthpiece rear reads "Property of The American Bell Telephone Company" - Mouthpeice front reads: "Erickson Electric Equipment Company Boston, Mass." - Earpeice rear reads"Property of American telephone and Telegraph Company"...No damage on it...bakelite type front mouthpeice (thread on) has what looks like some grind marks on the leading surface....This thing was working when removed from her house in the 40's/50's, went to the attic and sat in a box. My family has saved alot of absolute junk, this is not part of that. it is as found, dirty except w cleaned off to view dates.
