Great large format Miners Union magazine from the Western Federation of Miners. Dated April 11, 1912, size is 10 1/2 inches by 15 inches, 16 pages of Union articles, editorials and commentary. Even a heated debate between a local union and the WFM president C.H.Moyers about dumping the union leaders after a couple of years because they get lazy and greedy. Some locals want to merge with the IWW for better leaders, also articles about the Mexican revolution and establishing homes for retired prostitutes. Nice graphic advertising from union businesses as well as Socialist poems and obituaries for union members who died that week. The Directory of Local, State, and District WFM unions and officers is a scarce source of information on the U.S. and Canadian locals with addresses of meetings and the president and secretary of each local in 21 States, territories and provinces. Mainly western areas as the name implies, but east as far as Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario. I have only owned a few copies of this historic magazine, and this one is from a retired collector that bought it in my mining shop back in 1994. Excellent condition with some edge chips but no loss or damage. The best condition I have seen. Thanks for looking. USA sales only. All my auctions run to completion.
