WESTERN SANDPIPER SHOREBIRD DECOY CARVING by HAROLD VAN DYCK from CLAYTON, DELAWARE The western sandpiper is one of the most abundant shorebirds in North America and breeds along the western coastline of Alaska. I individually hand carved and painted this carving. The carving and base is approximately 6 inches tall. The driftwood base is unique to the carving and was selected to complement the bird. It has fine glass eyes. I signed the carving underneath the tail and also sign and date the bottom of the driftwood base. I live near the Delaware Bay where my firsthand observations of shorebirds are my inspiration. I have been carving birds for over 35 years. TERMS OF SALE PayPal is the required form of payment.
