White Nephrite Jade Decorative Applique--Qing Dynasty This white nephrite jade carving was made as an ornament that was sewn to the clothing, usually an elaborately decorated robe. T are four small holes on the back of the jade so that it can be attached to the cloth. The jade is very translucent, true Nephrite Jade, and the carved design is of an archaic style bronze vessel with a prunus and flowers. This wonderful piece was from China and was carved during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). T are three original stickers still attached to the back of the jade. The round blue and red sticker is the original Chinese export sticker, for export into Hong Kong. The rectangular sticker is the old Hong Kong price. The red sticker was the price in British Sterling. This piece was a personal purchase in the United States and was most likely brought into this country in the 50's-60's, by the looks of the stickers on the back. The size is 3-3/4" X 2-1/4". Note: Just to buy this quality and weight of translucent nephrite jade raw would cost over $125.00 from a respected dealer.
