This is a rare, delightful ceramic figurine/candleholder sculpted as an angel by Danish artist Bjoern Wiinblad known for his whimsical interpretations in art. The piece is hand-painted in blue on neutral/white ceramic, making it one-of-a-kind, as no two are alike. It is 7 1/2" tall and has a bottom diameter of 3 1/4". The figurine depicts a fanciful female face, a lovely floral dress, and wings - all under a shiny glazed surface. On the bottom it carries the stamp of Wiinblad's Denmark Workshop with its No. L-89, the year 1980, and his initials BW. The figurine demonstrates the workmanship of an extraordinary artist. The head was reattached years ago (please see photo no. 5). Other than that, the piece is in good condition and should delight any collector of Wiinblad's art and design.
