THE HAMLET, by William Faulkner. New York: Random House, 1940. First Printing - Limited Edition. One of the rarest books I've ever offered on eBay -- the signed, Limited Edition First Printing of this classic novel by the legendary Southern American author! The Hamlet was the first book of "The Snopes Trilogy", which followed the lives of the backwards and increasingly sinister Snopes clan of Mississippi. This edition was published in a limited run of 250 copies, of which this is Copy #213. Faulkner numbered and signed each copy on the colophon page; note the pic here with his rather dainty autograph. Offered at a price well below the average this rarity fetches from dealers (although I will accept reasonable offers), this item is a must-own for Faulkner or limited-/signed-edition collectors! Format: 5.5 x 8.25" hc, green textured boards, quarter-spine and corner dark-green taping, Copy #213 of a 250-copy limited edition, signed and numbered by William Faulkner, inside color title page, 421 pp.
