President William Mckinley (1890-1899) Plate! Up for bids is this very nice, I believe hand painted porcelain plate. Made by Wellsville China Company to commemorate the 25th President of the United States of America. Mckinley was in office from 1890-1899. Mark on the back of this plate shows it was made by W.C.Co. and has a ribbon stating semi-porcelain. I found this mark in Encyclopedia of Marks, and shows this mark by Wellsville China Company to date between 1902-1930. Plate has some browning,crazing and imperfections in the making of this plate,as would be expected for it's age. T are no cracks,chips or damage except for three small nicks to glaze and paint, Two of which are on lapel of his Suite coat and one slight at edge of tie. These are not deep(only glaze and paint) and would be very easily fixed. I rubbed a little pencil in each and all but made them go away. I will be happy to send you plenty of pictures upon request. Overall a Very Nice plate for 100+ years old! Buyer pays SH&I (insurance optional) but will not be responsible for loss or damage in shipping.
