Wooden Buddhist Artifact Shrine Statue Authentic Shrine Carvings Are NOW Extremely Difficult to Find and Are Becoming Very Valueable Musuem Pieces We Are Selling The Genuine Articles of the Ming and Qing Dynasty Eras Please Do Not Be Fooled By Others Who Are Passing Off Reproductions This Magnificent Very Old Wooden Temple Carving dates from the Late Ming Dynasty to the Mid Qing Dynasty. Wooden carvings such as this were found in the Buddhist Temples and Shrines throughout China. During the Cultural Revolution the Communist Party ravaged and destroyed many Buddhist temples and their contents. Fortuneately, these Shrine Carving Relics were hidden away for years and spared from destruction. Many of these Older Authentic Artifacts have a small compartment with a door or opening on their backside which may contain small bits of prayer papers or clothing pieces from the Buddhist monks and elders. We do not open the backs of these Relics, we leave that to you. Some buyers have told us they have found small bits of jewelry in some statues. Some of the original paint remains on these pieces even after centuries have passed. We have left this in its original condition,
