TATIANA'S TREASURES WOODEN FIGURINE "Russian Father Frost" 8" (20 cm) Tall Made From Linden Tree Acrylic Gouache and Watercolor Mate Finish Hand Painted by Vladimir Sarafinchan About The Artist: Vladimir Sarafinchan was born in 1967 in Kazakhstan (the former Soviet Union republic on the south of Russia) not far from famous Space Center "Baykonur" (foundation of the Soviet space program). As far as he remembers he was always addicted to drawing. In 1978 Vladimir's parents decided to move to Bogorodskoye village near Moscow. That time t was a Komsomol ("Communist Union of Youth".) building project t and people from everyw were hired to work. This event dramatically changed Vladimir's life. Small village of Bogorodskoye has long been the most celebrated center of wood carving in Russia. Sergiev Posad that is right next to the village is world famous for its painting. Life in such environment surrounded by talented Russian carvers and artists pretty much influenced his decision to become one of them. In Bogorodskoye, generations of Russian craftsmen have been historically linked with one another through their craft, enriched and inspired like Vladimir Serafenchan by those past carvers and ensuring that the tradition will be passed on to their own children and grandchildren.
