This is a 7-1/2 inch plate, imported from Germany by Jonroth. (There is a very faint Jonroth mark visible on the reverse side of the plate.) The plate is in excellent condition - no chips or cracks. The colors are bright and clear. There is some light reflected in some of the photos. Chief Shakes Island is in the middle of Wrangell Harbor, which is accessed by a pile supported walkway. The Island is the site of Chief Shakes Tribal House, on the National Register as an historic monument. The illustration on the plate is "Famous Chief Shakes Totem." I will be listing 10 to 12 items at a time from an 800 piece collection. Watch for them; there will be some interesting pieces. Please ask questions before bidding, as this sale is final.
