Nice quality 1897 Pattern British Army Officers Sword used in WWI. Blade is approximately 82cms in it's leather covered scabbard. Blade etching is nice & clear with King George V cypher on one side & Coat-of Arms on the reverse. At the top there is the military outfitter name - G Boyton & Son, Clerkenwell - which is in London. Backstrap is stamped with number 2335 or 2336, last number has small dent on it. There is wear to the bottom end of the sword but not affecting any of the etching, the handle is in good condition with the shagreen grip & wires all complete. There is the remains of a field-type sword knot & the leather attachment loop to the scabbard is also at fault as seen in the pictures. Please feel free to ask questions or if you require other pictures ( I know some of the pics aren't the greatest!)
