World War II Navy officer's combination cap named to Lt. (jg) Jack P. Stephenson, USS LST 1024. A great example of a named cap from the Pacific Theatre. LST 1024 was comissioned in May 1944, served in the Leyte and Okinawa campaigns, and was dececomissioned in June 1946. This cap belonged to an officer who almost certainly served in the Pacific during WWII. The cap is salty, as you might expect of a cap with this history. The white cotton cover is completely in tact and has a uniform patina with a few additional spots. The mohair band is in great condition as is the chinstrap, and wicker frame. Officer's cap eagle has a nice aged look. Side buttons are post 1941-eagle facing right. The sweatguard is oilcloth and labeled: Service Center, 170 South Hotel St., Honolulu, T.H. The sweatband has a few cracks, but is in one piece and attached. Brim has some crazing. (See photos.) An outstanding piece of World War II memorbelia. A great addition to any serious collection. I am posting the size of the cap for those who want this information. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE: I am selling this cap as a collectible and cannot guarantee the size. If the size is marked on the cap, I've stated it below. If the size is not marked, I've indicated the approximate internal circumference of the sweatband and the approximate size. Size 7 1/4.
