PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AUCTION INCLUDING NOTES! My father served aboard the USS Sea Owl (SS 405) for three combat patrols during WWII. From what I understand, he was a "plank owner" as being part of the first crew.My father died a few years ago and he had several medals, badges, pins and insignia he had acquired during his time in the Silent Service. I am offering:First, a rare "Deep Wave" sterling silver combat badge from H&H and hallmarked on the conning tower, with no stars. From what I understood this was his first combat badge in '44 after his first patrol in the East China Sea w the Sea Owl sank an IJN Destroyer Escort. This badge is very uncommon and one went for over $430 just over a week ago (See auction 120090696320). I have included a picture of my father and a closeup of the badge to show it.Second, another rare "Deep Wave" sterling silver qualification badge from GEMSCO. This badge is also hard to find these days. Third, a sterling silver bullion submarine qualification patch on navy blue material for the winter dress blues. Forth, an embroidered patch of the same submarine qualification patch on navy blue material for the winter dress blues.Last, a WWII victory medal in very good condition.Just as a note, my father was also the boat's camera man. Some of the material you see on The History Channel regarding B-29 crews read more
