Japanese MILITARY Sword The length from the tip to the notch at the back is 28 ½" (76 cm). The curvature is ½" (1.1 cm). The length of the tang is 8 ¼" (21 cm) and the overall length of the sword in its mounts is 42" (107 cm). The blade is 5/16" by 1 1/16" at the notches and ¼" by 11/16" at the point(1cm=0.394inch)net weight 2.2 Shin-gunto, army officers swords , are the most common style of sword mountings from the World War II era , which were made using traditional methods . It has the most common style 98 of military sword mountings , this blade with a serial number 05736 ! Sword with stamp on their nakago (tangs)carried by military soldier ! TSUBA(guard)handmade guard used to protect the hand from sliding onto the blade of the sword , made by specialized kodogu and tosogu (sword fittings) BLADE SHINOGI-ZUKURI with a high quality blade to promote quickness and balance with a long haagai tang marked the ancestor's name 山本太郎 !
