WWII War-Time Dagger This is a nice old Dagger that I believe to be from WWII & possibly Japanese. Measures roughly 12 5/8" long counting handle. The Blade is made of solid steel (not stainless) Front & rear Bolster(s) are solid Brass. I have no idea what the Handle is made of, the redish striping appears to be seamless as well as the metal in-between...The Blade will rust, while the Handle doesn't. This is very well crafted and a quite heavy piece that would be a fine addition to any collection. As you can see it needs a good cleaning. The Blade has some minor pitting & scratches, which should easily buff out. This is what I know to be factual concerning this Dagger. It belonged to my Dad (RIP) who was in the Amphibious forces Pacific Fleet during WWII...(Which he did not discuss much) I did hear him speak of Guadalcanal & a friend of his told me of some things I'd rather not speak of...Anyway, this Dagger has been in the faimly for well over 50yrs...I'm 49yrs old & its been around for as long as I can remember. My hope is that it will to go to someone who will take good care of it...? Winning bidder to add $7.00 S/H USA. Sale is finial. Any questions feel free to write. Thanks for having a look.
