X-LARGE ANDALUSIANA TRILOBITE FROM MOROCCO WITH N/R Xtra-Large Andalusiana Trilobite from Morocco with No Reserve presented by Sahara-imports ************************** You are bidding on this BEAUTIFUL AND REAL TRILOBITE originally from ALNIF south east of MOROCCO dated from the Lower Cambrian period (550 million years ago). ! Note that this trilobite was excavated from the Cambrian sedimentary rocks by using bombs. As this kind of trilobites is quite big, it is always breaking when rock is split to locate fossils. This unavoidable damaging method often leaves missing parts and highly fragmented specimens left to assemble and restore... This example of Andalusiana is a nice commercial quality with approximately 15% restoration. Still it is a very nice specimen for collectors looking for an impressive display ! The size of the specimen is 11 1/2 " by 8 " (matrix included). Trilobites are hard-shelled, segmented creatures that lived hundreds of millions of years ago in the Earth's ancient seas. They are considered to be one of our planet's earliest complex life-forms and are one of the key signature creatures of the Paleozoic Era. Trilobites went extinct before dinosaurs even existed.
