5 x White Peace Poppy Wear your white peace poppy all year round! In 1933 the Co-operative Women's Guild produced the first white poppies to be worn on Armistice Day (later called Remembrance Day). The Guild stressed that the white poppy was not intended as an insult to those who died in the First World War - a war in which many of the women lost husbands, brothers, sons and lovers. Many attempts have been made to promote the White Poppy as a symbol of remembrance for all victims of war, not just the military. I buy them in bulk and sell them individually as the Peace Pledge Unions minimum purchase is 5 plus £3-00 postage. I will also sell in 5s at a price slightly cheaper than the PPU I will post worldwide. Please contact me for details.
