This is a YAD Hand Book Manuscript Pointer Rod Reader. It is a reading pointer. It is 11" long. It is silver plated with a 24k gold plated hand end. These have been used to read sacred texts so as to not physically touch the books. Comes in wonderful velvet box. Inset picture shows close-up of the hand.
