YALE UNIVERSITY JONATHAN EDWARDS WEDGWOOD 1940's PLATE in excellent condition and being offered in time for Spring graduation or wedding gifting. May & June are our busiest time of the year as parents, friends and classmates search for unique and memorable gifts. Wedgwood in the 1930's began to produce wonderful scenes from numerous American colleges and universities. This practice continued until the mid 1950's. Discontinued for over the last 60 years....these treasured plates have become hard to find. Offered for auction is this 10.5" dinner plate depicting Jonathan Edwards College. In the 1930's Wedgwood produced a series of 12 scenes for Yale and then in 1949 a fewer in number series depicting the 5 Yale colleges and Marquand Chapel. This second series consisted of: Berkeley College, Davenport College, Pierson College, Timothy Dwight College and the above mentioned Jonathan Edwards College along with Marquard Chapel. We have in stock Yale cups and saucers, several dessert/bread & butter plates and a set of delightful demi-tasse cups with saucers (which would make perfect bridesmaids or groomsmen gifts should the bride and/or groom be Yale alums!).... as well as several scenes from the earlier production of 12.
