This is a beautiful classic Victorian/antique 19th century English Ironstone ceramic aspic mold made by Copeland/Spode - a very famous name in English dinnerware. The pineapple represents hospitality and extends a symbol of a warm welcome. Use it today for butter, jello salads, or to beautify your kitchen wall-space. Just a neat antique piece of usable cookware - for a vintage food style which is making a rapid resurgence! Purchased in London c-1970 (it was considered old at that time!) In wonderful condition free from chips, cracks & repairs - and there is no crazing. It has speckles and unique grains and deposits in the ceramic itself - not considered a flaw; but adds to the character we look for in antique collectible cookware; and as you know, ironstone is a sturdy everyday ceramicware filled with flecks and should not be compared to fine porcelain ware.MEASUREMENTS 4" tall 6-1/2" oval jelly impression outside of the mold 7-3/8" overall mold length
