At this point I'm sure you are already aware that this is a pair of 8040A monitors with the matching 7060B subwoofer.I purchased them couple of years ago from a pastor who bought them for a project, but the project fell through. They had been set up, but were essentially unused.Since then I've used them for music listening. I don't turn them up loud, because there really is no point. "Normal" speakers distort when the volume is cranked, which is what a lot of people are after when they crank the volume...but if I crank these speakers, the unwavering clarity and lack of distortion just hurts my ears. Before I bought them, I had a chance to listen to them at a Guitar Center, and these 8040's were significantly better than everything else they had.The 8040A monitor is a two way, active, near field monitor speaker.
