This high performance “super-propped” trebuchet hurls golf balls up to 300 feet using 10 pounds of falling counterweights. These compact counterweights are included with the machine.Called a Floating Axle King Arthur (FAKA), this trebuchet features a 24” long-arm and 6” short-arm, producing a 4 to 1 leverage ratio. The 10-pound counterweight (CW) drops 39.75” vertically (measured from the center of CW mass), producing 33.125 ft./lbs. of kinetic energy. Mass ratio (CW mass to projectile mass) is 100 to 1 for a golf ball projectile.The FAKA consists of a removable arm/hanger and a sturdy 15 lb. frame. The frame measures 32.5” long, 12.5” wide, and 27 inches high. It includes 4 leveling feet and 2 bubble levels to ensure a perfectly level machine.The arm and hanger use precision 0.375” diameter stainless steel rods and shaft collars (5/64” hex tool included) for the main axle and hanger axle. Three-inch diameter polypropylene wheels are custom fitted to the frame rails and feature full length axle bores.Overall height of the trebuchet is 46.5” inches when the arm is mounted and cocked and it is 49.25” high when the arm is resting. The arm/hanger can be placed completely inside the frame for compact storage.
