This is a magnificent large copper jardiniere/planter or cauldron. It has two solid copper ring-handles.. The main decoration to the body consists of a wide band of foliate scrolls with large palmate leaves, all against a background of smaller leaves, Stylized petals above base, lozenges with dots on shoulder. Skilfully brazed junctions in the metal can clearly be seen...Rolled rim for added strength. An altogether delightful thing in excellent condition. 23cm. high, 31cm.across mouth mouth. Kashmir, India. Later 19th to early 20th century.. N.B. This item weighs over 2.5kg, so will be costly to consign overseas....non-UK bidders please contact me for shipping cost to your country.....
