This high quality old New Haven Edge Tool Co. timber framing slick is in very good condition! It has lots of length remaining for use. There are no cracks. There are no problem pits. The blade has only light normal wear. Check the photos. Unlike some folks auctions you should be able to see these photos. If anything is unclear I can email more photos. The blade looks great with only very fine pitting in spots, nothing that wouldn't polish out quickly as necessary. The cutting edge needs sharpening but it will tune up to an excellent user. I'll let you decide how you want it sharpened. Three or four inches is usually plenty but this slick has an incredible 5 1/4" of harder laminated steel remaining for cutting! The lamination line is clearly visible. The cutting edge is 3" wide. From the cutting edge to the end of the socket it is 15". The old handle looks great. There are no cracks or chips to the handle only some smooth old wear from use. The handle was found with the slick and it seems possible that it is original. This is a great high quality slick that has years of use remaining. You could use it back 2" and still have 3" left to use! If you don't break the handle you can use it plenty and it will still be worth what you paid.
