This is a beautiful souvenir program from the Original Broadway production of the JEAN GIRAUDOUX play "THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT" at the Royale Theatre in New York City. (The production opened December 27th, 1948 and ran for 368 performances.) ..... The play starred MARTITA HUNT (winner of the 1949 Tony Award for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured JOHN CARRADINE, ESTELLE WINWOOD, NYDIA WESTMAN, DORIS RICH, MARTIN KOSLECK, JONATHAN HARRIS and LOUIS SORIN ..... Side Note: Giraudoux's "THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT" was the basis of the 1969 JERRY HERMAN, JEROME LAWRENCE and ROBERT E. LEE musical "DEAR WORLD" which starred ANGELA LANSBURY as the "Countess Aurelia" .....
