For sale is a miniature elephant made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is handpainted very well with nice colors and with good detail. Based on an 18th century model easily seen since it has human shaped ears which I always thought made this piece superb. One can tell they made them without ever seen the real thing. It is in perfect condition and 1.25 inches tall, about 0.75 inches wide and 2.625 inches long. The elephant is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as an impressed number that looks to be 78622.
