Boyce Moto Meter for Chevrolet. Boyce Universal moto meter vintage auto temperature gauge. Very nice condition with wreath ornament. Large edition, measures 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide .B oyce moto meters were patented in 1912 and were used as a readable temper gauge on top or the radiator. Made in Long Island NY the company was founded by a German immigrant Hermann Schlaich. It offered for the first time readable information about the engine temperature from the drivers seat. The gauges became very decorative and even personalized. The gauges became obsolete in 1930 when inside gauges started to appear. The well made brass gauges soon became very collectible when they stop being manufactured. Great piece of automotive history.
