I am trying to slim my guitar collection down (to under 10!) I have two of these marvellous guitars, so one needs to go! The good points: * Almost mint condition * Set up by a renowned luthier in London ( http://www. ) - the action is faultless (see photo 12) * Difficult to get hold of in the UK (I imported this model from the USA) * The only place that sells them in the UK ( http://www./showitem.aspx?isbn=0840246033109&loc=GBP ) does so for £1,350 (too much!!) * Street price in the States is $999 (£620) which, with shipping, duty & other charges would realistically cost you £890 to get a new one sent over from the US * You are welcome to come and look it over, have a play (by prior arrangement) in either Sevenoaks (weekend) or London (weekdays) before the auction ends * You are welcome to ring me and ask me about the guitar () * I have 100% positive feedback and I want it to stay that way! The bad points: * There is a small chip in the varnish on the side (see photo 8). It doesn't go into the wood and is purely cosmetic, but it is noticeable * There are two quite small and less easily noticeable chips on the back (photo 10) * Bridge has be re-glued professionally by the same luthier who set it up - this is obviously not a problem but you need to know the full history * There is a slight blemish (under the varnish) on the side which must have been done in the factory (see photo 11). Very minor but, again, just want to cover everything FIVE MINUTES LAP TME WITH THIS GUITAR AND YOU WILL WANT TO OWN IT - I PROMISE YOU PAYPAL OR CASH ON COLLECTION I WILL POST ANYWHERE (BUT WILL ONLY CHARGE YOU ACTUAL COST OF POSTAGE/INSURANCE) TO BE ADDED TO AUCTION PRICE The following information is from the Recording King website (/guitars_rp1626c.html ): O and OO 12 Fret 626 -C Developed in collaboration with guitarist and historian Eric Schoenberg, the Recording King OO guitar ( RP2-626-C ) offer players the even frequency response, clarity and wider neck traditional to a classic parlor style, but the unique addition of a cutaway gives fingerstyle guitarists easier access to the upper frets. RP2-626-C , the one-piece mahogany neck with a classic v-profile meets the body at the 12-fret with a hand cut dovetail joint, giving these guitars a true small body sound, warm and rich, but perfectly balanced. The solid AAA Engelmann spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides have been carefully selected and hand-assembled. With a 1-3/4” nut width, Grover tuners, ebony fretboard and ebony pyramid bridge, these O and OO guitars are as well-appointed and unique as they are beautiful. Each guitar is sprayed with a thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer and then hand-buffed for a finish that is extremely resonant and historically accurate. Both guitars are also available with Fishman Matrix EQ (-CFE1). The RP1-626-C and RP2-626-C models have Recording King's lifetime warranty. More about the collaboration: Eric Schoenberg’s influence on guitar marries traditional fingerstyle playing to classic ragtime and walking basslines. His “Fingerpicking Beatles” book is considered an essential text for modern fingerstyle players. Mr. Schoenberg prefers the 12-fret cutaway because he believes the 12-fret neck joint gives the guitars a gutsier voice, yet the cutaway is not so deep that it takes away from the sound.
