I was building these Carbine reproduction type rifles back in the 80s and 90 when the real ones were getting to a grand or more for nice ones and good shooters were getting to 500 bucks. I had a great pattern ( and still do ) for this and I was buying my wood from Cecil Freddy ( he sells to English makers, Weatherby, Browning and such, very good well season wood for gun making ) I was building replica military 03 target rifles and trapdoor carbines and officer models and needed plain straight grain which Cecil was ready to burn in his stove so I got pretty good deals at first and as I became a little bit more regular customer he would save lumber for me. This was one of the stocks I never built. I had lost it in my storage when I moved to Pahrump Nevada ........Nice wood that was aged 6 or 8 years before I had it cut and that was early 90s if I had to try and remember. The metal pretty much went right in and you would need to finish cutting the barrel channel and but plate. I would carve a Cartouche in some of them that passed the casual inspection on most of them, if you care to do this practice and a couple junk pieces first......ask questions and there is a carbine buttplate on Ebay as I place this ad it is a little rough but they are hard to find in any condition and carbines use their own butt plate. this is a buy it now and read more
