Stanley 5 1/4 Jr Jack Plane in Very Fine Condition This plane appears to have been a high school shop plane at one time due to some numbering lightly etched into the lever cap. (see pictures) . Other than the numbers described, there are very few marks or scratches anywhere on this plane. The base opening is in excellent condition and the sides and bottom are clean and in great shape. (see the pictures) This plane has very few nicks, toolbox marks, scuffs, dings or any other signs of abuse. I have thoroughly cleaned and inspected for any hidden cracks or other damage. I have ground the plane sides and bottom surfaces flat on a thick plate glass base using progressively finer grits of sandpaper thru 600 grit until the bottom is truly flat. The remaining original japanning was stripped, and replaced with a modern baked on finish carefully built up in successive coats resulting in a great looking durable finish that will last a lifetime. `The totes are in great condition and nicely grained. I have cleaned,refinished and polished them and they are in beautiful condition. There is a tight closed crack on the front tote that has been glued and clamped.
