/2c2bid_4.htm This week I have pleasure in offering several unusual and unique items.. Offered for sale is this superb and very unusual late C19th, Victorian hand painted portrait miniature of a young lady, holding a prayer book. As you can see from the photos, the miniature is well painted, on ivory. It has a 'French' feel about it. Possibly French in origin? Signed 'J Brandl'. The miniature is framed in its original period frame. The original curved glass is also present. Frame is gilt metal with an ebonised wood mount, this mount has four 'gems' inset at the corners. The top stones are paste stones, the bottom two are faux pearls. [the pearls are most likely an old replacement]. The painting measures 3 & 1/4 inches by 2 & 1/2 inches approx. The frame measures 5 inches by 4 & 1/4 inches approx. Condition The condition is very good. The painting is in very good order. As mentioned above, t is the replacement of stones in the frame, but otherwise very good order..Please view large photos... UK buyers, payment can be by cheque or paypal, in £'s sterling.
