Double your traffic. Victorian Brass Clockwork Roasting Jack (AF) What is it ? An Antique Victorian MeatRotating Roasting Jack. Roasting Jacks were used in the 19th centuryand earlier to roast meat. It was more popular in France than England but this one is english and is inscribed on the base 'Jones 25 Warranted .This roasting jack has a wind up spring mechanism ( clockwork) but the key is missing. These kind of Jacks enabled people back then to cook their dinner without having to watch it cook. This kind of Jacks spins constantly and slowly, providing even heating to all sides. Roasting Jacks are rare. This particular jack looks like its had a hard life , battered and bruised with a few dings and dents , in need of a good polish , the key is missing and it remains untested ... My guess is it probably needs attention , just an honest opinion. Anyway , its here to be sold with no reserve , sold "as seen", in "as found" condition (AF) for spares or repair
